Internal Applications Java Engineer

We are looking for enthusiastic engineers to join Boonze's Internal Systems team to build great systems that will support the information needs of a wide range of business users throughout the company. The person will be responsible for designing, building and supporting systems and tools to streamline business processes, automate tasks, provide real-time access to critical data within the company, and maximally leverage the productivity of employees worldwide. The person will work closely with users to understand requirements, develop technical designs, implement and extend web applications, and oversee the full application lifecycle.

The person should be comfortable with multi-tasking, handling interrupts, and interacting with a distributed team. This position provides an excellent opportunity to see first-hand the impact of your work in a fast-growing company.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 3+ years web application programming experience.
• Strong foundation in Java, SQL, Unix/Linux, HTML/XML, and scripting.
• Solid track record delivering successful web applications through the full product lifecycle.
• Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Experience with extreme programming (XP) development practices and with internal systems a plus.
• Knowledge and experience of Web Services, SOAP, XML-RPC, AJAX a plus.

Business Analyst

We are looking for a Business/Tech Analyst to join our Competitive Insights team. The Analyst will manage the data and analysis for a group of our clients. The purpose of this position is to achieve, maximize and sustain business success through the discipline of using facts, data and statistical analysis that enables our clients to drive competitive advantage in the market.

Responsibilities

• Complete ad hoc analysis and periodic reports for clients in various industry sectors.
• Identify and gain agreement with Account Managers and client on client business objectives. Assist with defining criteria that will be used to determine targets for clients' business growth. Prepare recommendations on data, competitive strategy and account penetration to Account Managers based on client and client's market awareness.
• Develop plans and ROI calculations for assessing courses of action. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Setup a process with Account Managers to effectively streamline the work and communications.
• Make recommendations and provide alternatives to Account Manager to complete workload.
• Analyze data and make recommendations for tactical and strategic improvements.
• Support and develop new research methodologies and product development efforts as they relate to data.
• Provide analysis and support of analytical areas including Search Engine Optimization efforts and other site traffic initiatives.
• Conduct drill-down analyses, "what-if" analyses and adjust strategies based on findings.
• Provide analytical support for new and existing products and services.
• Interface with programming staff, analytical staff and account management teams.
• Must be a team player, who can communicate internally and externally with our clients.
• Superior oral and written communication skills, presentation skills.

Education / Experience

• Confident, proactive and action-oriented; always looking for ways to do things better/more effectively or efficiently; and the ability to make those ideas happen/come to life.
• Bachelor's degree with quantitative focus, such as statistics, operations research, math or alternatively, marketing with quantitative emphasis. Other degrees with relevant experience will also be considered.
• Strong mathematical and analytic background required. Statistical analysis experience a plus.
• 4-6 years business experience with an emphasis on analysis or mathematical modeling.
• Business reporting and analysis experience interpreting complex data, including using advanced Excel features and query building in Oracle/PostgreSQL.
• An ability to translate business strategies and requirements into research and analysis programs. An ability to translate data from research and analysis into actionable knowledge tied to business strategies.
• Experience using OLAP and advanced reporting tools (e.g.Crystal Reports) a plus.
• Experience in business analysis, as well as marketing strategy development and familiarity with creative development of online marketing a plus.
